The RealReal Really Did That

After a recent back and forth about whether or not Kylan Darnell’s Christmas Gift, a Kelly Bag, was real or not, The RealReal has just released an ad that completely encompasses everything that will make up the it marketing strategies of 2025. Storytelling, longer video concepts, strategic & tactful use of AI, and tasteful allusions to modern day culture. With the use of AI becoming rampant and almost seemingly… sporadic, we will see a rise of AI usage to simply enhance digital storytelling. As you can see in the ad, they turned the Kelly bag into a character named, well, Kelly! They gave her a whole personality as she described her astrology sign and named her competition, the Margeoux bag. It was overall hilarious and the detail was chefs kiss. Now, this is a perfect example of using AI jusssst enough— personifying merchandise is SUCH a fun way to get the audience’s attention! Talk about knowing your target audience. It’s flawless!
